History

Since 1999 Everquest continues to make millions for Sony Online Entertainment.

Summary

This expansion involves one of the most innovative expansions yet in the Everquest line. The introduction of iterations of dungeons that are assigned as individual missions where no one else can interfere borders on sheer genius. The designers of Everquest are finally providing solutions to the hordes of people online who camp dungeons, monsters, and otherwise make it impossible for players to have a good time. Truely some of the Everquest players delight in ruining others gameplay and this stops this problem dead in its tracks.

Another issue addressed with this expansion is not only lack of competition and anoyance from other players, but the tailoring the adventure to the skill levels of those going on the adventure. The dungeon is still a challenge but not so challenging that a good group need worry about getting killed. No more long treks across the vast expanse of Norrath only to find your favorite spot camped by one million players. These dungeon crawls are accessable since they are close to town, private for your group only, and at your challenge level making them ideal. Incidentally, making them close and convenient is another innovation for these adventures. Count them three win-win situations for game players.

The third innovation that helps with one of the major player complaints and time wasters is body retrieval. In this world if you cannot get your body out within a prescribed period of time - the time alotted for the mission your dead body is deposited outside of the mission location. No more long body retrieval missions to insure that your hard won equipment does not just disappear with your body.
