Players face a new series of quests to rid the world of Diablo and his vile brethren forever.
"Diablo II is our most ambitious undertaking to date," said Mike Morhaime, Blizzard Entertainment president and co-founder, "From the depth of each character class and the size of each act to the expansion of Battle.net®'s new worldwide architecture and the number of languages for which we localized the game, the scope of Diablo II is much larger than any of our past projects."
The game will be available at most computer and software retail chains worldwide. The game will also be offered directly from Blizzard at (800) 953-SNOW and www.blizzard.com. The game has received a Mature rating from the ESRB. mages/menu-store-off.gif','menu3')">
Amazon -- This powerful woman warrior belongs to nomadic bands who roam the plains near the South Sea. The wandering f these groups often brings them into conflict with other peoples, so the Amazon is accustomed to fighting to defend her own. This lifestyle has made her fiercely independent and able to weather severe hardship and travel. While her skill with the bow rivals that of the Rogues, the Amazon is also adept in the use of spears and other throwing weapons, as well as in hand to hand combat. The Amazon is much sought after as a mercenary, in which type of service she will be loyal as long as her own ends are also served.
There are six quests per profession. Each one involves the same monastary and threat but a different map. The maps are arrayed around the Rogue camp. The rogues are a sisterhood who have had their monastary invaded by the evil monster.
There are several lethal bosses, sometimes more than one per level, culminating with the final battle with the ultimate evil. There are also several trap areas where more than one monster can descend on you. The trick is to take on one monster at a time and heal between battles.
