Hiya all:

T'is me, Tom Donoho of 'Above & Beyond.' Sorry for the mass mailing; I know it's generally bad practice, but it'd be utterly pointless to type out each one of these individually.

Anyway, just wanted to inform you all that 'Above & Beyond' is now on the Web:

http://members.aol.com/aboveb, (I tried the link and he is not there. We will keep you posted. - Al.)

Some of you may remember a few of my negative comments about taking zines to cyberspace. Here's an excerpt from the opening editorial of the soon-to-come (really! no, really!) 'Above & Beyond' #7...

"In closing, I should probably tell everyone to check out the new Above & Beyond Online (http://members.aol.com/aboveb). Yes, I know I've criticized other faneds before for taking their zines into cyberspace, and I still feel just as strong towards those who totally abandon hard-copy publishing in favor of the web. However, faced with the new availability of 10 megs of AOL server space and pressure from several friends, I've decided to take A&B onto the ever-clichid "information superhighway." Do understand this: A&B Online's main purpose will be to interest and draw in new, potential BNFs who are not yet aware of fandom, and to provide a back-issue archive for those who may have missed an issue. Rarely, if ever, will you see any material on the WWW version (or exclusive to it) before you see it in this print version. Just so you know."

Anyway, it's in its relative early stages as it currently stands, but you should still check it out. And be sure and tell me what you think! Type to you all later...

-Tom Donoho
